Smoke-Free Parks Idea Rekindled In Norco

A 17-year-old Norco girl has reignited the idea of smoke-free parks in the city, an issue that gained little traction years ago and has divided support today. Rochelle Grooms, a junior at Norco High School, wants to protect children with a healthier environment. "I really thought of the kids because parks, little kids play over there," Grooms said. "It's a reminder for kids and for adults. ... So the kids don't have to pick (cigarette butts) up and show it to their moms."
