Cloverdale cracks down on teen drinking

Cloverdale has joined several other Sonoma County cities in cracking down on parents who tolerate teen drinking parties. An ordinance takes effect in January targeting adults who allow the parties, making them subject to criminal penalties and the costs of police response to unruly gatherings. It's intended to cut down on underage imbibing and “put consequences in place for those who choose to provide alcohol to minors,” City Councilman Joe Palla said Tuesday. “I think we need to make sure people know it's not OK.”
